I refuse to set my laptop to the correct time for the state we're in *lol*
We've come quite a ways since I last powered this puppy up. Wednesday morning we had breakfast at The Cracker Barrel, biscuits'n gravy (I know my husband just gagged reading that), browsed the gift shop thats attatched to those restaurants then turned our faces to the sun and drove out to the Little Bighorn Battleground. That is a very interesting place. We stopped by there on the day they were waiving the fee to drive around and see all the monuments
After that we headed East, cutting through a corner of Wyoming on the way to S. Dakota and I have to say, those 3 states took the loooooooooooongest time to drive through. Stopped for the night in S.Dakota then got an early start for the short jaunt through Iowa. Hit Missouri and the scenery got more interesting... and green. Almost like home except different kind of trees.
Saw a lot more wildlife, including the rare black garbage bag. Poor thing had gotten tangled in a fence, mostly it was the more common white bag...
also pheasants, geese, ducks, antelope and jack rabbits.
We did see a sign for the famous corn palace but I must have been passing a semi and missed the sign saying exit here.
Oh and casinos in this part of the country are like latte stands back in Washington. They are everywhere.
Friday (yeah I know, today) we're driving from Harrisonville, MO to Harrison, Ark. And -severe- weather is forcast, how fun. Anyway, we will be there all weekend so hopefully I'll get some pictures up on this thing.

Loved your little comment about the rare wildlife you caught a glimpse of.
ReplyDeleteI've rode through that long part of the country and it is long. No end in sight, it seems to go on forever, flat and uninteresting. That's when it's time to crank up the music and bop down the freeway.
It's still beautiful in it's own way. Also lots of places to stop when you're not in a hurry ... better than the southwest ... after 8 years of back and forth, that IS somewhat boring! Stay safe ....
